WAKATAKE(Kawasaki,Japanese cuisine)

Okonomiyaki is an interesting Japanese cuisine. According to some theories, Okonomi-yaki was named because we can put anything we like(OKONOMI) into the pancake dough and grill(YAKI) it on a hot plate. There are many kind of Okonomiyaki in Japan but Kansai-Fu(West Japanese style) and Hiroshima-Fu(Hiroshima style) are famous indeed. The difference between Kansai-Fu and Hiroshima-Fu is the source. Kansai-Fu uses Worcester sauce, Hiroshima uses original sweet taste source on the other hand. Personally I prefer Hiroshima-Fu to Kansai-Fu, because Hiroshima-Fu has a sunny side up egg on it (yum yum). Apart from Okonomiyaki, this restaurant serves Monjya-yaki which is a Tokyo style Okonomi-yaki but the dough is much thinner. Both Okonomiyaki and Monjya-yaki are DIY style, but if you are not confident for cooking it, you can ask the shop staffs for help.
